As a voice biometric platform, we handle particularly sensitive personal data. We take this responsibility seriously and have designed our systems and processes with privacy as a core principle.

Information We Collect

Voice Biometric Data

When you enroll your voice with VoiceSeal, we collect:

  • Voice recordings: Audio samples you provide during enrollment
  • Voice embeddings: Mathematical representations (256-dimensional vectors) derived from your voice
  • Quality metrics: Technical data about recording quality and enrollment status

We process voice recordings only to extract embeddings. Raw audio is deleted within 24 hours of successful enrollment unless you explicitly request retention.

Account Information

  • Name and contact information
  • Email address
  • Payment information (processed by our payment provider)
  • Account preferences and settings

Usage Data

  • API call logs and timestamps
  • Detection results and statistics
  • Service usage patterns
  • Device and browser information

How We Use Your Information

We use your information for the following purposes:

  • Voice Protection Services: To enroll your voiceprint, detect unauthorized clones, and enable licensed voice synthesis
  • Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and improve our platform
  • Royalty Processing: To track licensed usage and process payments
  • Security: To protect against fraud and unauthorized access
  • Communication: To send service updates and respond to inquiries
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws and regulations

Biometric Information Notice

In compliance with the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and similar laws:

  • We collect biometric data only with your explicit, informed consent
  • We disclose the specific purpose for collection before enrollment
  • We maintain a publicly available written policy for biometric data retention and destruction
  • We do not sell, lease, trade, or profit from your biometric data except as part of our stated services
  • Biometric data is retained only as long as necessary for the stated purpose or for 3 years after your last interaction, whichever is shorter

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these circumstances:

  • With your consent: For licensed voice synthesis, we share necessary data with authorized licensees only with your explicit approval
  • Service providers: With trusted vendors who assist in operating our services, under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
  • Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with continued privacy protections

We implement industry-leading security measures:

  • AES-256 encryption for all voice embeddings at rest
  • TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
  • Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for key management
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing
  • SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure

Data Retention

  • Voice embeddings: Retained while your account is active, deleted within 30 days of account closure or deletion request
  • Raw audio recordings: Deleted within 24 hours of successful embedding extraction
  • Account data: Retained for 3 years after account closure for legal compliance
  • Usage logs: Retained for 1 year for security and analytics purposes

International Transfers

We process data primarily in the United States. For EU users, we implement Standard Contractual Clauses and additional safeguards to ensure adequate protection for international data transfers.

Children's Privacy

VoiceSeal is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect voice biometric data from minors. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email or prominent notice on our platform at least 30 days before changes take effect.
